There is always a class to run in. Whether you're competitive or not is another question. Now being that you have a truck, they are usually excluded because of the high center of gravity with the stock suspension. However, you say you have lowered yours 5-6" which means it should be ok to run. We will just need to check it over at tech to make sure, before we give you the official ok.

Marcel, if his truck passes tech, what class would he run in?  I am curious.

thanks..

what kind of thing do you guys look for at tech? same as like the drag racing tech? battery secure.. no major fluid leaks.. decent tires, lugs all there, belts helmet etc?

center of gravity shouldnt be an issue.. ive thrown it into some tough corners, and it doesnt have any bodyroll at all..  only real problem is getting/finding some forward grip..lol Grin

tried to posta  pic.. but cant yet.. dont have enough posts..

The only special safety equipment is a Snell rated helmet, M2000 or SA2000 or newer.

Tech does a visual inspection at key safety points: battery tie down, steering wheel, brake pedal, seat belts, seat attached, wheels attached, no loose objects.

From sounds of some mods, at least SM class ... the reason Marcel commented about competiveness in class.

Since the S10 never came with a V8 of any kind, it would probably fit in one of the Prepared or Modified classes. I'll take a look at the rule book and see if I can figure it out.

Ok, after a quick check of the rules it looks like its E-Modified (EM). Your usual company in that class (if they come out) is: a 400hp AWD VW Rabbit and a 300+HP Northstar V8 equipped Fiero  Cool

I thought it might fit in C-prepared (the S10 is actually specifically listed), but you would need to have kept a V6

You guys remember the GMC Syclone.  V6, Turbocharged and AWD.  That thing was fast.  It was a favorite at the dragstrip.  Have no idea how well it handled.

Yeah those were wicked. From what I remember it was a turbo version of the 4.3 90* V6

I believe it was 3.8.  The same engine out of the Buick GNX/Regal Grand National.

I was hoping to see this S10 out on Saturday.

No, it doesn't have to be insured. we have several race-only cars that show up on trailers every event.
