Does anyone have the url for the mg club. The one on the links page is broken and I seem to remember someone saying that their site had moved.

Thanx
Chuck

Hi Chuck,

http://www.victoriamotorsports.ca/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1277258172

It hasn't been fixed yet, but I'll post the link when it is.  I believe we are aiming to get "victoriamgclub.ca" but have not sorted it out yet.

Also, if anyone needs any info that was on the site (event dates, etc.), just email me and I should be able to help.

Glenn

It is now back up, although it is not complete due to further technical difficulties.

It'd be great to have you out at one, Chris.  I know there are more than a few people in our club that would be interested in your car.

In terms of overall preparation there isn't anything too different, but there are differences in the way the events are run (such as a very simple classing system).

The only thing to note is that each car has to be insured, with DOT-legal tires, as we don't allow non-street legal cars to run.  Cars on trailers are fine, as long as you COULD have driven it legally instead.  This isn't a problem for your car, obviously, but I'll mention it just in case.

Chris,
Just FYI, the two MG events I did had different formats. The one last Saturday (July 17th) was similar to VMSC's having 2 run groups (ended @ ~ 2pm), but the one in June we actually got to book into one of the several run times (one group per hour starting 9am to 1pm).

I think Glenn would be one of the first to know the details of the upcoming events, but just for reference here are the details of the July 17th event:

Track open @ 8 AM
Tech & Registration opens @ 8:45, closes @ 9:45
Driver's meeting & course walk @ 9:50
Members, $30.00,  non members $40.00

With 34 drivers and A/B groups, each did 9 7 runs and ended @ ~ 2pm.

The June event was a special event our club has been doing for many years, with a different format that was created to help visitors from the states.  The next events will follow the standard A/B format.  We nearly always get 6 runs total, but the last event we were able to get 7 for the first time, plus a "fun run" afterwards.  Kevin's correct, we usually are done at around 2:00 at the latest, and are required to leave the track by 2:30 at Western events.
